• Job title: Wiring Assembler

• Location: Leman Engineering and Consulting, Inc. (520 E 1050 S, Brookston, IN, 47923)

• Job Description:

• Wiring Assemblers will be tasked with wiring the inside of custom designed switchboards and switchgear. The switchboards are 90 inch tall and are mechanically assembled by assemblers with hand and power tools. Once the frame is built, electrical wiring is on the inside door of each column of the unit. Generak assemblers are doing the "grunt" work assembly. Wiring assemblers will also do some grunt assembly, but mainly the electrical wiring. Each switchboard is custom designed by LEC's engineering team, so in theory no two switchboards are the same. Assemblers will use a blueprint of the outer frame and a schematic for the internal wiring to determine what wires, parts, etc. that they need to complete the job. Employees will fill their push cart with the items and go to their work station to continue wiring the product. These things are large, so completing one job could take days or weeks. The initial assemblies are done on a standing bench at waist level, but once the frame of the board is built the wiring assembler will be bending, squatting, sitting to get "inside" the guts of the switchboard to wire it. Once the wiring is done, they'll have small testing equipment (they'll be trained) to make sure the wiring components work and they'll let their manager know. The manager will check their work and they'll move on to the next job!

• The best candidates have:

• Previous experience in a highly detailed, hand-on, job

• Small parts assembly experience

• Wiring experience

• Strong attention to detail

• Willingness and ability to do tedious small parts wiring work (feeding wires thru small spaces/holes)

• Willingness and ability to work in awkward positions (squatting, sitting, bending, etc)

• Ability to read a tape measure and use a power drill

• Ability to lift 50lbs as needed - will be very rare, but there is one part per switchboard that needs a large copper bar 9.

• Willingness to work 90 inches off ground (about 7 feet on a step ladder) to assemble top of switchboard.

• The job is individual much of the time, so people have to remain self-motivated.

• Environment:

• Very clean with bright lights so everyone can see the small parts/wires well.

• Quiet work environment. The loudest thing in the shop was a power drill here and there.

• Dress Code:

• Jeans and t-shirt/sweatshirt with no holes

• Closed toed shoes required

• Employees can listen to headphones while working

• Full Time Openings:

• 1st shift (7:30am-4:00pm) w/ little to no OT at this time - $18 - $22hr

• Contract to Hire:

• Employees will be an Aerotek employee for roughly 3 months before becoming eligible for direct hire.
