Grundfos is seeking an Inventory Planning Specialist to join its Supply Chain team. The Inventory Planning Specialist is responsible for overseeing the cycle count program ensuring daily cycle counts are generated and collaborate with the warehouse supervisor or leads to effectively complete execution. The planning specialist will also investigate and track inventory discrepancies, complete root cause investigations on inventory discrepancies, and propose or develop corrective actions as necessary to improve inventory accuracy. In addition, they will coordinate with third party logistics providers and utilize their warehouse management system software to optimize warehouse operations and ensure materials are shipped and returned in correct methods and on time. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and will operate daily out of the Brookshire, Texas facility.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Generate daily cycle counts, adhering to group rules, and collaborate with warehouse leadership to execute daily physical counts.

  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, investigate, and track root cause(s).

  • Update inventory records and system to ensure accurate and timely inventory tracking.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory records on site and third-party logistics warehouse.

  • Generate reports and provide analysis on key inventory metrics such as stock levels, inventory turns, slow-moving or excess inventory, or other areas of improvement.

  • Coordinate activities with third party logistics consisting of daily transfer of materials to and from warehouses, audits, inventory accuracy, physical inventory, and key performance metrics.

  • Lead and support integration of third-party logistics warehouse management system to SAP and oversee the effective ongoing integration.

  • Collaborate with warehouse leaders to create, implement, and audit SOP’s and work instructions aligned with the organizations’ goals and priorities.

  • Participate in Kaizen or VSM events aimed at enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.

Your background:

We imagine that you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or a related field is desirable. Experience to be considered in lieu of degree.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning, supply planning, or inventory control.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and inventory or warehouse management systems.

  • Lean certification preferred (Green Belt)

  • APIC’s CPIM preferred.

  • Extensive understanding of inventory control methodology, material movements, storage techniques, pick processes, and use of systems and databases to manage materials.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work well with cross functional teams.
