MMD Medical, A Velosity Company is searching for a Swiss Machining Process Technician to support our Swiss Machining department at our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. Under the supervision of the Swiss Machining Supervisor, provide product support in the areas of New Product Launch, Set-up, Programming and technical assistance to internal and external customers. Plan and set up machine tools to fully utilize machine's capacity and minimize amount of machining and number of set-ups required. This position will support continuous improvement and expansion efforts by providing hands on technical support for projects, by providing trouble shooting assistance concerning manufacturing issues, by assisting in the implementation of solutions and by contributing to solution development through root cause analysis. Reports to: Swiss Machining Supervisor The typical pay range for this role: $33.89 - $42.36 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, internal equity and other relevant factors. Assist level 1 machinists as needed in process specific areas to ensure they are completing product to quality and customer requirements. Consistently produce accurate records of completed parts including accurate entry of scrap and nonconformance's when required into the ERP system and any hard copy requirements. This includes the use of job cards and WIP tags. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs verbally or by documenting in shift-to-shift transfer books. Reports machine, material and quality concerns or issues to leads/ Supervisors. Operate Swiss machines up to 9 axis as required per manufacturers recommendations as well as follow MMD SOP's to produce quality parts per customer prints. Set up Swiss Machines on all jobs to including high complexity level jobs unaided as required by work instructions and set up sheets. Work with quality and engineering on all NPL and development projects to create a production standard process. Extensive understanding of G and M code and an ability to program manually. A high level of macro program knowledge. Operational knowledge of many types of machines and controls. Ability to trouble shoot machine alarms. Verify all products meet quality specifications both visually by using a microscope and dimensionally in accordance with specifications or other Quality System requirements. This includes the use of vision systems, CMM's as well as hand tools. Demonstrate the ability to read and understand QC calc/ SPC and use the data to perform offsets, tool changes and maintain dimensional integrity. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: H gh School Diploma or GED. Machine Trade Certificate or equivalent work experience. Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States. 5+ years of experience in a Medical Component's and Device manufacturing environment Problem Solving and Critical Thinking to evaluate options and implement solutions Strong attention to detail is required Able to use a computer, calculator, read and write in English and do shop Math Able to use measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, dial indicators Physical & Mental Demands: Standing, Walking, Kneeling, Bending, Reaching, Pulling, Twisting, Turning, Seeing, Hearing Ability to lift up to 30 pounds The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Work Environment: This is a non-smoking, professional tool shop with normal lighting, and climate control. This position requires the employee to work on a manufacturing floor where they may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors, exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, oil and waste The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Protective Clothing Required: When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
