Job Description

As a Principal Front-End Software Engineer in the Core Experience squad, you will be a senior contributor responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business critical client applications. You will be relied upon to provide technical leadership to the team, participate in setting coding standards, and mentoring junior engineers. You will also be expected to be a proficient individual contributor who will jump in and support project deliverables and find solutions that meet goals and schedules.

To succeed in this role, the Principal Front-End Software Engineer must be a technical leader who communicates effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to meet the needs of the business. They must be highly collaborative, organized, can manage competing priorities, and able to adapt to rapidly changing requirements. Job Duties

  • Be a key contributor of designing, developing and maintaining front-end software solutions that are a foundation for multiple teams.

  • Build user-centric interfaces that are accessible, secure, and performant.

  • Write code that is of the highest quality.

  • Develop and maintain unit, integration and E2E tests with a high degree of code coverage.

  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for common components including usage guidelines, API documentation, and best practices.

  • Be a technical leader, mentoring and guiding more junior developers with comprehensive code reviews, pair programming, and other forms of communication.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable policies and procedures for areas such as Quality, Security and Privacy, ensuring that our platform is secure and compliant with industry standards.

  • Collaborate with other development teams and cross-functionally to gather requirements and translate them to technical solutions.

  • Interacts with product managers, project managers, management, other internal and external teams to communicate architecture, status, risks.

  • Continuously keep up to date with industry best practices, and emerging technologies to keep our systems relevant and effective over time.

Job Qualification

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in related discipline, such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related; Masters Degree is preferred.

  • A college or advanced educational degree is not necessarily required for this position. We also value education achieved via work experience, coursework and training, and even self-guided learning.

  • Minimum of 10 years in Software Engineering.

  • Minimum of 7 years building complex applications with JS/TS and HTML/CSS.

  • Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Occasional travel is required.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with JavaScript and/or Typescript.

  • Advanced understanding and experience with React and other frameworks.

  • Experience building state management solutions for frontend clients using libraries like Redux or Mobx.

  • Experience consuming REST APIs and Websockets.

  • Experience with SDLC, including source control, configuration management, continuous integration pipeline.

  • Understanding or experience with software security requirements and considerations. Understanding of Secure SDLC.

  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with build tools like Nx.dev and Turborepo is a plus

  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma is a plus.

  • Experience using healthcare interfaces such as HL7/DICOM/FIHR.

  • Experience in development of Software as a Medical Device and related design controls.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $125,634.00 - $175,888.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
