Velosity Companies Metrology Technician - 2nd Shift in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota

Velosity is searching for a Metrology Technicianto support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. The Metrology Technician completes First Article Inspections using measuring equipment and tools. This is an on-site position. The typical pay range for this role: $25.00 - $37.50/hour This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality standards, make suggestions regarding procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality. Complete mold evaluations Participate in corrective action process Operate and program CMM/VMM; assist in training others on use of CMM/VMM Assist with ISO system compliance Other tasks as assigned by supervisor Qualifications: High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience Technical training certificates preferred (ASQ Certified Quality Technician, GD&T, Blueprint Reading, etc). 3 years' experience in quality and CMM/VMM programming Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems. Understanding of modern manufacturing processes; experience with basic measurement tools (micrometers, tool scopes, etc.); knowledge of blueprint reading / GDT; an understanding of component and/or mold manufacturing and ability to make decisions on in process tolerancing. To be able to perform daily tasks safely; To work independently with limited supervision; To be able to solve practical problems and work effectively with customers, vendors and other departments. Physical & Mental Demands: Walking and stair climbing is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Ability to lift to 30 pounds. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner; Ability to make decisions with limited information. Work Environment: This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing facility with normal lighting, and climate control. This position requires the employee to work on a manufacturing floor where they may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors. The work environment characteristics described here ar representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Protective Clothing Required: When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations. Licensing/Registration/Certification: Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States. We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing.
