Medical Mutual of Ohio Director, Administrative Expense Management in Brooklyn, Ohio

Note, requires a minimum of (3) days per week in-office in Brooklyn, Ohio. Ohio residents strongly preferred.

Directs a team to analyze operating activities, performance trends, ROIs, and variances related to commissions and administrative expenses. Evaluates, recommends, and tracks opportunities to control and reduce cost related to commissions and administrative expenses. Fosters an environment of continuous improvement and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

· Develops and leads the administrative spend management process, including line-of-business/functional area targeting, reporting, benchmarking, cost containment opportunities tracking, and analytical support and partnership for the operational areas.

· Lead the evaluation, measurement and reporting related to the financial impact of commissions spend, including a broker performance report, ROI analysis of all commission programs, and ad hoc commissions analysis requests.

· Directs annual and recurring corporate budget and forecasts process related to commissions and administrative expenses, including the calculation and implementation of corporate chargebacks between functional areas, lines of business, and general ledger entities.

· Lead the evaluation, measurement and reporting related to the financial impact of organizational continuous improvement opportunities to ensure targeted efficiencies are achieved.

· Directs the Corporate Funds Request process.

· Provides leadership and guidance to the administrative expense management team. Develops long and short-term department goals, ensuring consistency with the Company’s goals and objectives.

· Directs and manages complex financial analysis and cost accounting projects as requested.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

· 10 years progressive experience in corporate financial planning and analysis; 5 years of which are in a managerial capacity.

· Significant experience in the financial services industry, preferably health insurance.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

· Extensive knowledge of financial analysis, cost accounting, budgeting and financial systems and the ability to apply advanced concepts and strategies at a corporate level.
