Robert Half Strategic Finance Manager in Brooklyn, New York

Description

Manhattan based startup is hiring a Strategic Finance Manager to join their growing team. The role centers around leading strategic finance initiatives and overseeing FP& A efforts to drive strategic decisions in the company. The Strategic Finance Manager will be actively involved in forecasting, performance metric enhancement, ROI-driven decision making, efficiency improvements, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A):

  • Develop and manage comprehensive financial models to support business planning and decision-making.

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate and timely financial projections.

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Strategic Financial Management:

  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that align with company goals.

  • Evaluate potential investments and funding opportunities, providing insights and recommendations.

  • Support mergers and acquisitions (M& A) activities, including financial due diligence and valuation analysis.

Investment Banking Expertise:

  • Utilize investment banking experience to guide complex financial transactions and capital-raising efforts.

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and market research to support strategic initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.

Startup Experience:

  • Apply startup experience to navigate the challenges of a growing company, including cash flow management and scaling operations.

  • Drive financial process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support product development, marketing, and sales strategies.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and investors.

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including GAAP/IFRS.

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and manage external audits.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Define, track, and report on KPIs to measure financial and operational performance.

  • Provide actionable insights to drive performance improvements and achieve financial targets.

    Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Strategic Finance Manager role or similar

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Proficient in Strategic Planning and Long-range Planning.

  • Experience in Annual Budget and Budget Processes.

  • Able to undertake Financial Modeling and Forecasting & Modeling.

  • Knowledgeable in KPI Reporting and Financial Reporting.

  • Outstanding communication skills and the capacity to work in a team.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
