Description

As a Staffing Coordinator at our home care agency, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless provision of care to our clients by efficiently managing staff schedules and assignments. Your primary responsibility will be to match caregivers with clients based on their skills, availability, and client needs. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work well under pressure to address staffing challenges promptly.

Responsibilities:

  • Staff Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain staff schedules, ensuring proper coverage for all client shifts.

  • Coordinate with caregivers to fill open shifts and manage last-minute schedule changes effectively.

  • Utilize scheduling software to optimize staffing assignments and maintain accurate records.

  • Client Matching:

  • Match caregivers with clients based on individual needs, preferences, and compatibility.

  • Conduct assessments of client requirements and caregiver qualifications to ensure appropriate placements.

  • Regularly review and update client and caregiver profiles to facilitate accurate matching.

  • Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for caregivers regarding scheduling inquiries, shift changes, and updates.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, caregivers, and other team members to address scheduling issues and ensure client satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with the management team to identify staffing needs and develop strategies for recruitment and retention.

  • Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, state regulations, and industry standards regarding staffing and scheduling practices.

  • Maintain accurate records of caregiver credentials, availability, and assignments.

  • Assist with the onboarding process for new caregivers, including orientation and training scheduling.

  • Problem-solving and Crisis Management:

  • Proactively identify and address staffing challenges to prevent disruptions in client care.

  • Respond promptly to unexpected scheduling issues, such as caregiver absences or emergencies, to minimize impact on client services.

  • Implement contingency plans as needed to maintain continuity of care.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a staffing or scheduling role, preferably in the healthcare or home care industry.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with caregivers, clients, and team members.

  • Proficiency in using scheduling software and other computer applications for data management and communication.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices related to staffing and scheduling in the home care sector.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively resolve conflicts or issues as they arise.
