Maximum Pay Rate: $105,000

    As the Senior Manager, Human Resources, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience at Barclays Center. You will lead, control, and evaluate various tasks across the Human Resources department, with a strong emphasis on providing exceptional service and enhancing the arena experience for all our clients and guests. Your strategic mindset and innovative approach will be instrumental in driving organizational success and fostering a positive work culture.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: What You Will Do 

  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and government regulations affecting HR functions.

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives at Barclays Center.

  • Administer various Human Resources plans and procedures for all facility personnel.

  • Assist and support the HR team with recruitment activities such as interviews, tests, and selecting employees to fill vacant positions.

  • Support plans and assist in conducting new employee orientations.

  • Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and advise the corporate office of EEOC complaints and other employee relations issues.

  • Collaborate with legal counsel and HR leadership to address legal issues and provide guidance on HR-related matters.

  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Administer performance review and salary administration programs.

  • Prepare and conduct stay surveys and exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

  • Support in managing relationships with multiple stakeholders such as union business agents, BSE Global, and ASM Global entities.

In addition to the attributes mentioned above, successful candidates for the Senior Manager, Human Resources position should demonstrate proficiency in the following competencies:

  • Solid knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration: A strong understanding of HR fundamentals and best practices is essential for effectively managing various HR tasks and procedures.

  • Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and related state and federal regulations: Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations ensures compliance and supports informed decision-making in HR activities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: The ability to analyze complex HR issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions is critical for addressing challenges and driving continuous improvement.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills: Effective communication is essential for conveying information, building relationships, and resolving conflicts within the workplace.

  • Professional appearance and attitude: Maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance fosters credibility and trust, both internally and externally.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment: The capacity to collaborate with others while also being self-directed enables effective teamwork and individual contributions to organizational goals.

  • Workday recruiting experience or equivalent: Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday for recruiting purposes is advantageous for managing recruitment processes efficiently and effectively.

  • HR certification preferred: Possession of HR certifications demonstrates a commitment to professional development and signifies expertise in the field of human resources.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university.

  • 5+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.

  • Demonstrated experience leading HR initiatives and driving organizational change.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Union experience preferred.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Human Resources Certification preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Operate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software.

  • Operate standard office equipment including copier, typewriter, and fax machine.

  • Previous experience working with ADP, ABI, or other HRIS Systems.

    HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel minimal.

  • May require the ability to work irregular hours including late evenings in addition to normal business hours.
