ALL PERMANENT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR I AND LEVEL II ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

The Track and Infrastructure Training Unit is responsible for curating learning programs that enable operating personnel to perform their duties in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.

The Unit provides induction training and skill development courses for current employees in the areas of Crane and Heavy Equipment, Track, Welding, Hydraulics, Elevator & Escalator, Light and HVAC.

Responsibility:

The Unit is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic supervisor to become a Crane & Heavy Equipment Instructor. This may be promotional opportunity designed to develop leadership skills. The position provides overtime opportunities.

The selected candidate will be responsible for instructing, in the classroom and the field, Crane and Heavy Equipment classes. Courses taught, include, but are not limited to, Forklift, Personnel Lift Platform and Universal Hand Signals.

The incumbent will:

• organize and present learning materials in an effective manner.

• create and maintain learning aids and mockups.

• evaluate student performance and maintain records.

• research industry best practices and incorporate new and innovative delivery methods

• provide troubleshooting and technical assistance

• instruct students in the classroom and at field locations

• develop and write lesson plans

• perform administrative tasks and other duties as required to meet business needs

Compensation:

Employees who are already serving in an MS II title will lateral over at their current salary.

Employees who are currently in an MS I title will be promoted to MS II in accordance with the contractual salary ranges listed below.

Maintenance Supervisor II Salary Range: Infrastructure /Track / Track Equipment:

Step 1: $110,381 Step 2: $111,951 Step 3: $115,888

Maintenance Supervisor II Salary Range: Electronic Equip / Revenue / Telephones:

Step 1: $112,448 Step 2: $114,057 Step 3: $118,067

Maintenance Supervisor II Salary Range: Car Equip / Elevator & Escalator / Signals:

Step 1: $112,717 Step 2: $114,313 Step 3: $118,338

Education and Experience:

Maintenance Supervisor Level I: Five (5) years of full-time experience; at least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Candidates must have experience operating heavy equipment.

Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of OSHA, PESH, ANSI and ASME standards.

  • Thorough knowledge of Track Safety and Track Flagging as outlined in the NYCT Rules and Regulations and the Division of Maintenance of Way Safety Rule Books.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the operations, policies, and theory of Heavy Equipment.

  • Have a Class B CDL.

  • Ability to use resources effectively and adapt to changing conditions.
