Who will I partner with in these responsibilities?

The individual who fills this position will be part of the HR Professional Services team within the Personnel department. This team focuses on governance guidance and policy, project management, and initiative and improvements leadership to support a high performing workforce. In addition to being part of that team, you will partner with:

  • The Daktronics recruiting team and HR Business Partners

  • Key talent partners at colleges/universities, technical schools, contracted labor partners and talent acquisition partners like Indeed and LinkedIn

  • Employee advocates for inclusion at Daktronics

    Talent Strategy Responsibilities

    The Personnel department supports Daktronics employees worldwide, with a mission to enable Daktronics success through people, for long-term mutual prosperity. Daktronics has more than 2300 employees worldwide (in 46 US states and 12 other countries). In these responsibilities you will:

  • Provide leadership and an escalation path to our internal recruiting team. Maintain and improve our recruiting processes, bring visibility to how we are progressing against goals, ensure process excellence, and regularly seek feedback from stakeholders.

  • Proactively look forward and understand future talent needs and develop successful talent sources for the organization by:  

  • Building strong relationships/communication paths with our HR Business Partner group.

  • Developing strategic partner plans and nurture relationships with key talent partners (which may include colleges/universities, technical schools, or contract labor partners). Educate these partners about the opportunities we have and are developing.

  • Focus on strategies for both external recruiting and employee career development:

  • Lead, evolve, prioritize, make transparent, and teach our talent strategies to recruit and develop a high performing workforce.

  • Bring solutions to our teams to solve their unique talent fulfillment needs.

  • Foster experiments and build and maintain platforms/models to support external recruiting and career development.

  • Identify and lead improvement efforts using effective project management skills.

  • Leverage our tools and partnerships to automate and streamline our recruitment and career development processes. 

  • Manage our recruiting budget and assess the value of our investments.

  • Demonstrate self-motivation, work independently, and effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment and maintain confidentiality.

    Inclusion Journey Responsibilities

    Where will I work? 

    We have a strong preference for this individual to reside near our corporate headquarters in the Brookings, SD area. We will also consider current US based Daktronics employees located in other US time zones. Much of the work for this position can be done from home, with regular in-person engagement with stakeholders.

    What competencies or experiences would be most helpful to bring to this position?

  • Competencies that will help you be successful in this role include:

  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal savvy.

  • Be inquisitive and seek broad knowledge and understanding.

  • Planning and Collaboration skills.

  • Dealing with ambiguity.

  • Use of reporting and analytics to drive decisions.

  • Previous experience in recruiting, managing organizational change and leading through influence is helpful.

    What are the qualifications?  

  • A bachelor’s degree is required with a preferred focus in human resources, business, or marketing.

  • Commitment to following policies and procedures and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Must be fluent in English, written and verbal. 

  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.

  • Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
