City of Brookhaven Laborer (Street Department) in Brookhaven, Mississippi
The City of Brookhaven is hiring for a General Laborer position for the city's Street Department.
**Summary: Performs a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of city streets and storm drainage facilities and systems.

Education and/or Experience: **
- High School Diploma or GED/HSE equivalent
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must have and maintain a valid State driver's license and CDL certification, or ability to obtain CDL.
- Class A, B, or D is acceptable for CDL requirement
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
- Must be able to pass a drug/background screen
- Some knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in maintenance construction, and repair activities
- Skill in operation of job-related tools and equipment
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time
- Ability to effectively understand, communicate, and carry out written and verbal instruction
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards
