Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion provides critical capacity to execute University initiatives and the department’s strategic plan.

They are responsible for liaising between several external and internal leaders to ensure priority projects are advancing in a timely fashion. Additionally, supporting the Director of Athletics in several capacities, including facilitating cross-team communication, performing various administrative/scheduling tasks, and managing initiatives and special projects as they arise.

This position requires some travel, as well as evening and weekend hours.

Essential Functions:

Provides oversight and management of strategic priorities and initiatives for Fordham Athletics.

Manages all diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for Fordham Athletics.

Ensures strategic alignment of time and resource allocation relative to the Director of Athletics’ priorities.

Leads the implementation and advancement of the Fordham Athletics strategic plan, including tracking and communications with an annual progress report.

Executes time-sensitive tasks from the Director of Athletics such as status updates, personnel matters, and data/report requests.

Ensures the Director of Athletics is briefed and prepped for all internal and external meetings.

Manages communication from the Director of Athletics.

Serves as the executive liaison with staff, faculty, students, external consultants, and the general public, representing the Director of Athletics as needed.

Plans, convenes and facilitates the athletics executive staff meetings to ensure communication and coordination among the Director of Athletics and direct reports.

Manages development and formulation of Athletics policies and procedures.

Manages the annual report process. Provides research on key focus areas and develops presentations for the Director of Athletics as needed.

Collaborates with board communications and agendas as related to the Director of Athletics.

Designs and delivers programming to Fordham Athletics staff and student-athletes. Represents the Director of Athletics as a chair or leading member of working groups as needed.

Develops and maintains positive and productive relationships with key internal and external constituents.

Serves as a member of the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics’ Cabinet.

Assists the Senior Executive Associate Athletic Director of Student-Athlete Welfare & Competitive Excellence with student-athlete programming in alignment with the priorities of the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Helps lead and plan student-athlete development initiatives, including trainings, workshops, celebrations, and honorings.

Plans and coordinates annual diversity, equity, inclusion, and unity trainings and workshops for student-athletes and the athletics department staff.

Serves as the liaison between Fordham Athletics and Athlete Ally, ensuring department policies are inclusive and equal for all

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum of two years’ experience in event management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of two years’ experience in event management in a higher education and/or athletics environment.

Minimum Salary: $90,000

Maximum Salary: $110,740
