Psychology AssistantUS-NY-BronxJob ID: 2024-16454Type: Research# of Openings: 1Category: 1199 UnionBronxOverviewThe LonGenity Study, based at Albert Einstein College of Medicine seeks a Psychology Assistant (PA) to be responsible for collection and management of study participant data. Data collection will include working as a member of a team with other research assistants to collect clinical data from study participants ages 65 years and older at on-site and home visits. Data include cognitive and physical function measures. Additionally, follow-up data will be collected via mailed, telephone and video-administered questionnaires and tests. The PA will receive standardized training in conducting these measures. Previous phlebotomy experience is highly desirable though willingness to take part in a phlebotomy course to learn these skills is also acceptable.The home visits require you to have a valid driver's license. Driving usually occurs within a 2 hours distance of New York City. The RA will have the opportunity to participate in specific research projects within the study that are of interest to them and attend research conferences.Responsibilities1.Recruit subjects to participate in the study by using approved methodologies, such as, reaching out to healthcare providers for referrals, visiting clinics, sending mailouts, using approved advertisements, etc.2.Conduct the enrollment of study participants, including explaining research procedures, and obtaining informed consent of subjects3.Schedule appointments of study participants; conduct reminder phone calls and/or send mailouts.4.Conduct study visits with subjects at the Aging Research Center at Albert Einstein College of Medicine5.Visit subjects at their place of residence or at mutually agreed upon place.6.Conduct routine and specialized tests with higher level of problem resolution, analytical ability and self-direction.7.Review the data collection forms for each enrollee for completion and quality; ensure timely and accurate entry.8.Follow established procedures, making judgmental decisions regarding reliability and accuracy of results, repeating procedures when needed. Require initiative and independence.9.Enter data in the study database with precision and accuracy.10.Begin to synthesize and interpret results. May prepare written and verbal status reports. Use statistical and graphic summaries.11.Other research-related tasks assigned.Qualifications•Bachelor’s degree required; coursework in Psychology preferred•Valid driver’s license•Some experience is preferred, but not required•Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry using a computer data system•Good interpersonal skills•Interest in working with the elderly•Willingness to learn new clinical skills•Ability to work well in a team setting and independently is essentialHiring Rate:$26.88Post Probationary Rate:$27.42Job Rate:$28.26Apply Here: https://www.click2apply.net/7WdjjMi6RQdqkCLXPi6Yb2PI239746588
