JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE:             Assistant Program Director, COMPASS/Advantage Program

FLSA:                     Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT:      Youth Services

REPORTS TO:       Director of Youth Services

SALARY:               $22.00 -$25.00 Hourly

SUMMARY:

The Assistant Program Director assists the Program Director to oversee all aspects of the COMPASS/Advantage program including youth recruitment, curriculum implementation, staff supervision, coordination with the program site, parent outreach, and reporting to outside agencies such as NYS OCFS, DYCD, DOE, and DOH. Proof of COVID-19 vaccine required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • · Organize and coordinate the out of school time program in accordance with the COMPASS/ Advantage program goals and work scope; maintain targeted enrollment and ROP; monitor and address student retention.

  • · Design and implement curriculums for student and/or parents as assigned.

  • · Maintain school age childcare regulatory compliance with the NYC Department of Health, NYC DYCD and the NYS OCFS at all times.

  • · Collaborate with school administration on a daily basis.

  • · Coordinate assignments to Group leaders, Counselors and other staff.

  • · Order, prepare and maintain needed materials for daily operation.

  • · Represent the program manager and agency professionally at all times in the school, community, at agency and public forums.

  • · Plan special projects and events and focus on community service and community connectivity.

  • · Maintain agency, Advantage, DOH, DYCD and DOE policies and procedures at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of the children; ensure respectful communication with parents, staff and school staff; ensure respectful treatment of school property; maintain equipment and supplies inventory.

  • · Participate in the student registration process to completion; maintain complete folders on children (health, parental contact information, incident reports).

  • · Assist in and ensure completion of all attendance and participant data related to the program/funder/agency requirements and program evaluation.

  • · Assist Manager in the screening, hiring, leading, training and evaluation of staff.

  • · Help to plan staff orientations and meetings; and staff trainings as required to meet regulatory and agency standards.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

2 years of college credits/ 60 credits or college degree preferred. High energy, dynamic personality and genuine passion for youth needed.
