The Geriatrics Career Development (GCD) Program at The New Jewish Home is seeking a full time Workforce Engagement Manager , SkillSpring to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Workforce Engagement Manager, SkillSpring will play a key role at The New Jewish Home, Manhattan and additional skilled nursing facilities affiliated with the SkillSpring Program in expanding this award winning program. SkillSpring (f/k/a/GCD), started in 2006, is a workforce development program which empowers, supports, and trains underserved young adults in an applied healthcare setting. We are looking for qualified individuals who will be responsible for the organization and delivery of quality program, catering to young adults, in a clinical/workforce development environment. This staff member is responsible for all aspects of young adult programming including recruitment, onboarding, program development and implementation, track participant data and program records; support certification, internships, and all other program components as needed at our partner skilled nursing facilities and organizations.

Reports To: Young Adult Program Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Provide comprehensive assessment and case management services; identify and work with participants to resolve barriers to employment and education.

 Responsible for meeting program outcomes; manage data tracking; report outcomes to funders

 Build and maintain relationships with key nursing unit staff and other skilled nursing facility employees to implement successful internships for participants.  Provide referrals for all participants during transition support services phase of program

 Work closely with TNJH and Partner organization departments and research on best practices to develop and implement intergenerational curriculum

 Create and manager partnerships with Partner organization departments to implement successful internships for participants

 Ensure the health, safety and well-being of participants in the program, by providing support and supervision of all activities.

 With the support of the Young Adult Program Coordinator create and deliver curricula for programming including professional development, clinical skills training, and health career exploration.

 Lead efforts to maximize participation of youth by scheduling, monitoring, tracking and reporting on various data points, including but not limited to attendance and surveys.

 Assess student’s program participation and attendance for continued program enrollment

 Schedule, monitor, track and report on all programming including but not limited to one-on-one sessions and group workshops.

 Oversee, manage, monitor, track and report on the young adult certification programs at various skilled nursing facility partners of SkillSpring. Conduct events, attendance, time reports and all other program data.  Create an environment that is diverse, culturally sensitive and relevant to the needs of young adults

 Actively participate in staff training sessions and special events

Specialized Skills and Competencies:

 Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

 Excellent verbal and written skills required.

 Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, clients, customers, and the general public.

 Excellent interpersonal skills.

 Excellent organizational and computer skills.

 Attention to detail and deadlines.

 Flexibility and adaptability a must.

 Must be able to lead innovative and meaningful programming that connects to adolescents

Age Related Skills and Competencies:

 Able to satisfactorily relate to the older adult population.

 Ability to satisfactorily relate to youth oriented age population.

Job Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in Education, Social Work, Human Services

 Minimum of three years of experience working with teens and young adults.  Experience teaching and facilitating activities on issues related to teens and young adults.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be able to manage multiple teens and young adults with respect, maturity, compassion and encouragement.

 Must be available to cover weekend/evening shifts.

 Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel), excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required

Physical Demands:

 Required to stand and talk or hear, walk and sit.

 Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

 Travel to multiple divisions.
