The Data Privacy Lead for Radiometer is responsible for developing and implementing data privacy strategies, policies, controls, and procedures to ensure compliance with global data privacy laws and regulations. The Lead will partner directly with business stakeholders and will be responsible for conducting privacy impact assessments, coordinating data breach responses, handling associate data requests, providing guidance on data transactions, conduct audits, and serving as a privacy expert. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data privacy laws, proven experience in privacy program development and management, and excellent communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to data privacy and compliance in the diagnostics field in a Danish based company which is part of a global corporation.

This position is part of the Legal function located in Brønshøj, Denmark and will be on-site. At Radiometer, our vision is to improve global healthcare with reliable, fast, and easy patient diagnoses.

You will be a part of the Compliance and Privacy team and report to the Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer responsible for ensuring compliance with industry, regulatory, and Danaher Corporation requirements. The Compliance and Privacy team is small but with an important agenda, supporting both Radiometer and our sister company, HemoCue, globally.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • In conjunction with the Danaher Data Protection Office, monitor current privacy laws, review changes to existing laws and monitor new global legislation.

  • Draft, review, and refine privacy policies and procedures for medical devices, ensuring compliance with global rollout. This includes documenting privacy practices and training associates in various regions.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate data protection agreements.

  • Conduct privacy impact assessments, evaluating the privacy and security risks of new projects and products. Be a central point of contact to make decisions on risk mitigation and minimize cycle time for engaging suppliers and collaborations with third parties. Participate in product design tollgates to ensure privacy considerations are addressed early on.

  • Respond to data breach notifications, including security issues and respond to customer inquiries.

  • Lead as an adviser for Radiometer Medical and participate in the Danaher Privacy Council.

  • Ensure compliance with diverse and changing laws in the locations where Radiometer operates. This critical role involves understanding and navigating the specific regulations governing data practices in relevant regions.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience with focus advising on privacy-related matters preferably from multinational corporations or law firms. A degree in law or business law is an advantage.

  • Experience developing and implementing data privacy compliance frameworks.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently across organizational lines is essential.

  • Subject matter expertise on healthcare, customer and employee privacy laws and regulations, with a particular emphasis on the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and other global privacy/data protection laws, and related implementing rules and regulations.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Hold a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) designation.
