JENNIE M MELHAM MEMORIAL MED Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in BROKEN BOW, Nebraska

The Chief Nursing Officer functions as a member of the Jennie Melham M. Memorial Medical Center (JMMMMC) Senior Leadership team to provide direction, strategy, business development, budgeting, trend variance analysis and information technology for the promotion of outcomes focused nursing care treatment and services. The CNO has 24-hour accountability and responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating nursing care treatment and services. Ensures efficient, economic, and quality performance measures to support and provide outcome focused quality health care services. Recommends administrative policy changes and consults with and advises JMMMMC CEO for Nursing Services operations. Responsible for communication with Nursing and clinical staff, Department leaders, Senior Leadership, various departments, and community.

Oversees the daily operations of Nursing and Clinical Services (medical surgical, medical-surgical pediatrics, SWING, Emergency Services (ED, Trauma), Cardiopulmonary Services (RT, Sleep Lab, Pulmonary Rehab, Outpatient RT testing), Case Management (UR and Social work), Outpatient Ambulatory Nursing Services (Infusion Center, Specialty Clinics, Cardiac Rehab, Diabetic Education) and Surgical Services (Pre-assessment, SDS Pre/post, Surgery, Central Sterile Processing).


II SUPERVISION


  1. Reports directly to the President/Chief Executive Officer

III QUALIFICATIONS


  1. Graduate of School of Nursing; BSN or BA required; MSN preferred.
  2. Current NE State License/Compact license as a Registered Nurse required.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of Senior Level Nursing Leadership experience.
  4. Professional knowledge of nursing practice and the business of nursing.
  5. Advanced interpersonal and communication skills necessary.
  6. Effective leadership to build teams and create buy-in.
  7. Effectively communicate with a wide variety of hospital personnel, community residents, and outside agency personnel.
  8. Advanced analytical skills necessary to develop and implement new nursing systems, revenue budgets and prepare special and recurring reports or analysis. A strong ability to analyze nursing business operations.
  9. A high level of experience in quality outcomes and patient care.
  10. Job functions must be performed on site with regular attendance.
