Signature Healthcare’s Brockton Hospital is hiring for a Part-Time Paramedic in Brockton, MA.

Type: Part-Time Shift: Days Shift Details: 7:00am-3:30p,7:00am-7:30pm every other weekend and alternating holidays

Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital Emergency Department (ED) has undergone a renovation concluding in 2024 to better meet the needs of our patients and staff. The ED staff care for patients of all ages, supporting the needs of our diverse community. The ED includes 49 beds including a secured 12 bed area for behavioral health patients. The ED employee’s RN, LPN, Paramedic, Technical and Clerical Staff and works closely with Security and other ancillary services of the organization.

Paramedic Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Understands the customer's needs and provide correct information and the ability to resolve problems requiring logical thinking and follow through.

  • Functions calmly and logically under tense and difficult situations.

  • Works with frequent interruptions and responds appropriately to unexpected situations.

  • Accepts constructive feedback and initiates appropriate actions to correct situations.

  • Manages difficult patients with high regard for staff and patient safety.

  • Deals with a variety of unique situations where only limited standardization may exist.

  • Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Uses appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patients, physicians, coworkers and, outside agencies.

  • Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills to work in a fast paced environment involving interaction with associates, clients and patients.

  • Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment

  • Document patient information, condition, and treatment

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights

  • Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients

  • Provide basic life support as delegated

    Required

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

  • Current Paramedic certification/license in the state of Massachusetts.

  • Current ACLS and BLS certification

    Preferred

  • 1 year of experience in an emergency care setting preferred
