Application Scientist-II Dualbeam (Semiconductor)

Thermo Fisher Scientific is searching for opening is for a dynamic, self-motivated individual in the early stages of their professional career to support groundbreaking electron microscopy instrumentation as an Application Scientist. As a member of this team, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team including sales representatives, marketing professionals, product specialists and other applications teams to support leading semiconductor companies be successful with their process control, failure analysis and R&D needs.

How will you make an impact?

The Applications Scientist provides technical expertise in the support of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s sales efforts at specific semiconductor customer sites

Key Responsibilities include:

· Perform high quality DualBeam product demonstrations. This includes developing innovative techniques and applications for partners and customers of Thermo Fisher Scientific in the semiconductor marketplace.

· Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into workable solutions.

· Collaborate with the sales team to determine customer needs and provide technical solutions

How Will You Get Here?

This position is ideal for newly graduated scientists or engineers looking to start a career in industry. Prior experience in electron microscopy is not required, but rather we are in search of motivated candidates possessing a strong willingness to learn and explore the intersecting worlds or electron microscopy and semiconductors. Following selection, the successful candidate will undergo a period of training within the R&D department at our Brno factory, where they will learn the technical skills that will enable them to be subsequently a successful application scientist following a return to the Eindhoven NanoPort.

The desired qualifications for this position are:

· A University degree in Materials Science, Chemistry and or Physics, an advanced degree is preferred. Bachelor's degree is required.

· A willingness to develop a deep understanding and learn hands on skills of how electron microscopes are used within the semiconductor industry

Demonstrating the ability to follow set tasks and assignments as an individual contributor, whilst also exhibiting an innovative attitude.

·Excellent, enthusiastic, clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with a diverse audience are critical to the success of this position.

·Proficiency in German would be highly beneficial.
