Enverus Lead Data Engineer in Brno, Czech Republic

Enverus is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our team in Brno. In this role, you will lead a new team of data engineers focused on streamlining and modernizing our data engineering infrastructure across multiple teams within the Energy Analytics division. Your responsibilities will include analyzing existing data infrastructure, planning, and implementing the transition to our common data manufacturing platform based on Spark and a data lakehouse.
What will you do:
Lead day-to-day efforts of a small team of data engineers
Collaborate with stakeholders from adjacent teams, including product management, application development, and QA
Develop a roadmap for transitioning legacy data manufacturing pipelines to our common data manufacturing platform
Design and implement ETL workflows
Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the transition
What you should have:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field
7+ years of experience as a data engineer, with 2+ years of experience leading teams
Strong experience with relational database systems, including Oracle, SQLServer, and Postgres
Proficiency with Spark as a data manufacturing system
Proficiency in SQL and Python
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams effectively
Proficiency in project planning, execution, and delivery
Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Knowledge of data governance principles and data security best practices
Effective communication skills and fluency in English
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Databricks
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Prefect)
Familiarity with the energy sector or related fields is desirable but not required.
