Red Hat Associate Software Engineer - Python, Go in Brno, Czech Republic

The Content, Subscriptions, and Insights Customer Tooling team is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of the Red Hat subscription and entitlement management customer tools including subscription-manager (https://github.com/candlepin/subscription-manager/) , insights-client (https://github.com/RedHatInsights/insights-client) , and/or rhc (https://github.com/RedHatInsights/rhc/) . You will enhance the quality, stability, and user experience of our customer subscription services by solving bugs, implementing features, and helping release these tools for Fedora, Centos, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and other Linux distributions.

This team is uniquely placed within Red Hat to help improve the customer subscription experience, a team focused on tooling crucial to Red Hat's business. As an Associate Software Engineer, you will contribute your solutions to our open source projects like subscription-manager, insights-client, and/or rhc.

What will you do

  • Create solutions to issues in our components.

  • Eventually, develop new features and enhancements for our components

  • Collaborate and innovate cross-functionally with other engineers and developers to deliver creative solutions for our customers, including product and infrastructure enhancements

  • Use agile software development methodologies to quickly adapt to changes in requirements

  • Work with the Quality Engineering (QE) team to ensure that features are tested correctly

What will you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a technology-related discipline

  • Python or GoLang development experience

  • Experience with GitHub, GitLab, or other collaborative code forges

  • Experience with agile and comfortable with rapid iteration and fast delivery

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

The following are considered a plus:

  • Understanding of how Open Source and Free Software communities work

  • Experience with containers on Linux

  • Experience with the use of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
