Saint-Gobain Development Engineer in BRISTOL, Rhode Island

Are you passionate about innovation and eager to make a tangible impact? We are looking for a dynamic Development Engineer to lead the charge in new product development for our diverse range of new and existing customers.

What You’ll Do:

• Innovate and Collaborate: Work closely with customers, engineering, quality, and production teams to bring cutting-edge products to life, ensuring they meet specifications, deadlines, and budget.

• Lead Development: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from design and machine trials to production scale-up, ensuring a smooth transition to manufacturing.

• Provide Expertise: Offer technical guidance to our manufacturing team to resolve production issues and support customers with expert advice, including on-site visits when necessary.

• Manage Schedules: Coordinate product development timelines with customers, supply chain schedulers, and operations departments, acting as the crucial link between design and production feasibility.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

• Member of contract review team for customer and commercial driven new product development initiatives.

• Ensures design documents and plant modifications are updated in accordance with approved procedures, processes, and design requirements.

• Ensures process capability of NPI initiatives with manufacturing and testing processes.

• Defines control plans for NPI; works with Quality Department for test plan.

• Involved in technical evaluations of vendors and equipment.

• Support Product Manager, commercial team, and others with technical and economic justifications for the implementation of new processes, methods, and equipment.

• Runs experiments and tests to aid in the development of processing systems.

• Collaborates with Process/Manufacturing Engineering in reviewing customer requirements and generate appropriate processes and methods to successfully accommodate and implement in manufacturing environment.• 3+ years’ experience in Manufacturing and/or Development environment in a technical role Required

• 1+ year experience of Project management Required

• Must have initiative, strong organizational and decision-making skills, and a high degree of customer orientation Required.

• 1+ year experience CNC Machining, Assembly, Injection Molding or Compression Molding Manufacturing Required

• Understanding of WCM or Lean Manufacturing Principles (Kaizen, 5S, Pilot Projects) Required

• 1+ years’ experience of Aerospace environment Preferred

• Knowledge of AS-9100 IATF-16949, APQP, PPAP PreferredCertain states require pay information be provided in job postings. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position which is $68,700 to $106,300 per year,however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
