We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Apprentice Support Specialist Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of Apprentice Support Specialists and providing mentorship, pastoral care, and welfare support to apprentices enrolled in our various apprenticeship programs across the UK. Your primary focus will be to align our Career Starter strategy for apprentices with the Intern and Graduate Programme Lead, ensuring a talent pipeline is identified to support our business growth.

Responsibilities:

·Lead and manage a team of Apprentice Support Specialists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.

·Foster a positive and supportive environment for students enrolled in our apprenticeship programs, offering pastoral care and welfare support.

·Collaborate with the Intern and Graduate Programme Lead to align our Career Starter strategy for apprentices, ensuring it meets the needs of our business and industry.

·Act as the primary interface between the Career Starters UK Program Lead team and apprentices, with a specific focus on technical training aspects of the program.

·Stay updated on the skills needed for strategic business growth and ensure that our course content and syllabus align with industry and business requirements.

·Work closely with the Supply Chain Management team to ensure appropriate training contracts are in place.

·Represent our company as a member of Skills England (IfATE), actively participating in relevant industry forums and events.

·Monitor and evaluate the delivery of training to ensure it meets the highest possible standards.

·Coordinate with local management during apprenticeship on-the-job training placements, ensuring a smooth and valuable experience for our apprentices.

·Benchmark against industry programs to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.

·Provide support to our international Career Starter programs, ensuring consistency and quality across all locations.

·Incorporate a strong safety culture into our training programs, emphasizing the importance of safety in all aspects of our apprentices' work.

·Assist with the recruitment of apprentices, actively participating in selection processes and ensuring a diverse and talented pool of candidates.

·Conduct performance management of apprentices at all phases of the programs, providing feedback, guidance, and support for their professional development.

·Conduct quality checks and audits of our various training providers, ensuring they meet our standards and deliver high-quality training.

·Maintain strong relationships with business units for placement activities, collaborating with them to structure visit plans and ensure a valuable learning experience for our apprentices.

·Promote and uphold the Boeing culture and values, ensuring our apprentices adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.

·Travel to various locations across the UK , including Sheffield, RAF Lossiemouth, RAF Odiham, AAC Middlewallop, Wattisham Airfield, Crawley, Cardiff Airport Lossiemouth, and other Boeing sites as necessary.

·Undertake special projects and assignments as agreed with the Head of BDUK Operations, contributing to the continuous improvement of our apprenticeship programs.

·Act as the STEM Leader for BDUK, actively promoting STEM activities and our commitment to social value to the UK Government.

·Manage the apprenticeship levy account efficiently and effectively.

Typical Education/Experience:

·A deep understanding of the management and delivery of apprenticeship programs.

·Proven experience in delivering technical training programs, preferably within a similar industry.

·Previous experience working in an Aircraft MRO and UK-CAA Part 145/147 organization is highly desirable.

·Demonstrated experience in a lead or management role, with the ability to effectively manage a team and drive results.

·Certification as a STEM Ambassador is preferred, showcasing your commitment to promoting STEM activities.

·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

·Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

·A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify and address challenges effectively.

·Flexibility and willingness to travel to various locations as required.

·A passion for supporting the development and success of apprentices, with a commitment to their welfare and professional growth.
