Title: Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Location: Brisbane, California About Us: Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: VERA), is a late clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Position Summary: The Manager, FP&A will report to the Associate Director, FP&A, and will be responsible for the successful execution of FP&A activities including budgeting, modeling, forecasting and reporting. This role will work with cross-functional Vera Therapeutics team members from R&D, product development, commercial, finance and accounting, and other business functions. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, deep understanding of financial modeling, and ability to provide actionable insight to support decision making. This role is highly visible with work product essential to the function of senior management and the board of directors. Responsibilities: * Manage key aspects of the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning for specific business functions, including those related to clinical drug development. * Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making. * Partner with Accounting on month end close, month-end accruals including clinical trial accruals, and perform procedures to ensure account and department coding is consistent. * Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency. * Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reports, including variance analysis, to senior leadership. * Support the development and execution of business strategies by providing financial analysis and recommendations. * Participate in the technical and personnel expansion of team. * Manage and perform ad-hoc requests and analysis. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a field related to drug development. MBA or other advanced degree preferred. * 5+ years of experience, biopharma or life science industries preferred. * Strong understanding of accrual process, clinical budgets, budget process. * Collaborative working style with excellent consultative, project management, problem solving and presentation skills. * Extremely organized, strong attention to detail and good problem solving and time management skills. * Strong interpersonal skills with excellent oral and written communications. * Knowledge of GAAP. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills (i.e., ability to create and update complex modeling spreadsheets). * Experience with NetSuite, Adaptive Planning and purchase-to-pay systems a plus. * Proficient in PowerPoint. * Ability to operate in alignment with Vera's core values. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $112,000 - $133,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geography, qualifications, skills, and experience. At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
