The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural engineer to be responsible for the design, specification and provision of engineering services related to water retaining structures and foundations made of concrete, steel or other engineered products, as well as buildings, platforms, retention and drainage structures, and similar infrastructure. Tasks will include both design of small straightforward assignments and assistance in design of larger and more complex assignments, both of which involve conventional engineering plans, investigations and surveys.

Who are you?

As a Structural engineer you will be able to perform all conventional aspects of structural engineering. You will be able to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptions and modifications.

Other requirements are:

• RPEQ registration (or the ability to obtain) is essential

• Competence and experience in the practice of the discipline of structural engineering desirably in a consulting and project environment.

• Ability to prepare and check design calculations (including self-checking) using either manual methods or with the aid of computer applications such as Space Gass, RAPT or Strand7.

• Competence in preparing reports and technical specifications

• Competence in delivering work according to budget, schedule and quality requirements

• Ability to liaise with peers, subordinates, clients, suppliers, statutory authorities and other consultants
