Hatch is seeking a Construction Manager - Contractor Delivery in the Brisbane office. We are committed to adding value throughout the entire life cycle of our clients’ assets, from study to operation, and helping our clients reach their business goals. We provide project development, setup, and delivery through our innovative projects tools, while continually exploring new ways to improve project implementation processes.

The next phase of growth will be further national expansion as we establish a broader presence across the country. This exciting role will oversee our Australia region business which has been expanding its footprint within the region and is poised for substantial future growth.

The Contractor Delivery practice, after initial development, will form part of the Project Delivery Group. The Hatch Project Delivery Group (PDG) serves clients across our three business sectors, comprising engineering specialists, and design and implementation teams to staff studies and projects globally.

Contractor Delivery is mandated by the board to make Hatch the partner of choice for top-performing general contractors in the industry across all sectors. In addition, this will allow Hatch to select partners for all engagements we pursue. To achieve this mandate, it is key to drive efficiencies along our mandates and be driven by a contractor mentality, focusing on critical path, cost effective and coordinated design.

Reporting to the Global Director, this role can be based out of any of our major locations and be responsible for growing the practice globally in conjunction with the Global Director and leading a thriving multidisciplinary group in coordination with colleagues around the broader global Hatch platform. The Contractor Delivery Lead will provide leadership in maintaining and further developing the practice, including responsibility for, team leadership and development, thought leadership and research, client engagement, technical oversight of deliverables and project financial performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide new engagement/proposal support to the business with delivery strategy and sponsoring proposals

  • Lead negotiations with contractors clearly explaining Hatch Contractor Delivery model

  • Ensure homogeneous approach within all Hatch business units for engagements in which Contractor Delivery is the selected model

  • Accountable as delivery sponsor for awarded engagements in which contractor/joint venture is a partner or client

  • Develop a Contractor Delivery team in accordance with Hatch strategy

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Must have demonstrated experience working with or for a General Contractor in the infrastructure or energy industries managing complex engineering projects

  • Experience and understanding of alternative delivery projects, including, but not limited to, design build, CMGC, or progressive design build

  • Experience in key project leadership roles

  • Considerable experience in client management on project pursuits, as well as in project delivery

  • Understanding and experience with win strategies, pricing and project scheduling

  • Experience in technical writing

  • Understanding of Project Controls (risk, estimate, cost, schedule)

  • Experience with proposals/RFP participations from conception till award

  • Contractual/commercial knowledge in DSA or subcontracts negotiations
