Hiawatha Telephone Company Customer Service Representative in Brimley, Michigan
Hiawatha Telephone Company, a subsidiary of Hiawatha Communications Incorporated, a locally-owned and operated telecommunications/broadband company, is seeking an energetic, resourceful customer care team member to grow and maintain our broadband and advanced communications business located in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula.
The Customer Service Representative (CSR), essential duties include, managing incoming calls from customers while navigating multiple systems to aid in answering questions and resolving issues. This process includes solving basic technical matters as well as tracking, routing, and redirecting advanced concerns to the proper source. Other duties are varied and include a variety of standard office functions and processes, including billing and payment processing, as well as marketing and sales solutions for our customers.
The ideal candidate must have a high-school diploma or equivalent, some college or a college degree is preferred, as well as a strong customer service background and two or more years of Customer Service experience.

Ability to:
- Communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and via computer
- Quickly assess information and make decisions
- Effectively multi-task and quickly navigate multiple systems
- Seek to create relationships with customers through product sales and support
- Process payments received from all sources and prepare daily bank deposits
- Process billing from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Abide by State and Governmental regulations regarding telecommunications and customer service
Possess:
- A friendly & positive personality
- A desire to work in an ever-changing industry
- A strong attention to detail, as well as a natural interest in technical expertise
- Proficiency with Windows-based PCs and Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of various types of software programs and office equipment
- Competency with technical equipment and devices such as tablets is a plus
