Nikon Metrology, Inc Inspection Services Technician, X-ray CT in Brighton, Michigan
JOB PURPOSE:
Nikon Metrology is seeking an experienced Inspection Services Technician who will assist in digital X-ray and CT scanning of customer supplied samples. The role will be under the direct supervision of experienced X-ray and CT professionals as well as ASNT level II or Level III when appropriate.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Will include, but not limited to the following:
Help with general lab operations on a day-to-day basis.
- Perform digital radiography.
- Perform CT scanning.
- Perform reconstruction.
- All data produced will be reviewed by a level 2/3 or senior X-ray or CT personnel until certified to Level 2.
- Shipping parts back to customers.
Must have ability to pass NAS 410 level 2 test when hours and requirements are complete.
Demonstrate X-ray systems and software to current and prospective customers.
Lead in-person and web meetings to present X-ray and CT data to customers.
Excellent customer communication skills both written and verbal.
Prepare reports based on customer needs.
- Assist in distributing pertinent technical information to all sales personnel.
- Demonstration equipment and demonstration center(s) upkeep.
- Recommend design improvements to enhance product performance and ease-of-use.
- Log/track customer communications in AV360.
- Log/track demonstrations and projects.
- Test/Log bugs in new software versions.
- Professionally Represent Nikon at all Times.
- 2- or 4-year degree in nondestructive testing, physics or other related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of industrial x-ray imaging systems and components.
- Ability to effectively communicate with Nikon Metrology employees, customers, and members of management in a professional manner.
- Ability to provide technical solutions to customers with a high degree of professionalism.
- Strong computer skills including MS office.
- Initiative-taking and well organized.
- Valid driver's license and ability to be insured.
- Able to work on ITAR projects.
- Valid passport and ability to travel outside of the United States.
- Previous industrial X-ray / CT experience.
- Previous use of VGStudio MAX analysis software.
- Ability to travel on short notice.
- 10-20% domestic and international travel required per year.
- Occasional weekend and evening work, as needed (20%).
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
