About our team
The OMOP Converter team is based within IQVIA’s Global Real World Solutions Technology unit. Everyone in the team has brought their own unique mix of knowledge and expertise to create a team focused on helping health data science work with big data. The team are passionate about solving real world problems and meeting our end-users needs.
What problems are we solving?
Currently healthcare professionals and researchers around the world spend days wading through petabytes of health data across multiple formats to discover trends and solutions that could answer some of the post pressing and complex questions in global healthcare.
Our OMOP Converter team are creating a solution that enables health professionals to access and convert health data in to a single, accurate, standardized format faster than ever before. This accuracy and speed then enable health professionals to answer those healthcare questions.
As the Director of Product Management, you will lead the OMOP Converter team and spearhead the interaction with customers and prospects. You will also be involved in IQVIA-internal projects and with external stakeholders to spread the word of OMOP and IQVIA.
What to expect
In this role, you will:
Own the overall vision, strategy and roadmap for the OMOP Converter product
Lead a growing team of developers and product manager
Work with the team’s product manager so they can effectively own the release backlog and run the team’s day-to-day activities
Advocate agile principles and help the team adopt those principles
Be the voice of your customers and users
Co-ordinate go-to-market activities in collaboration with Marketing and Sales
Support the sales process, eg with demos, initial prospect discussions, subject matter discussions or roadmap highlights
Collaborate with other product leaders in the RWS Technology group to enable combined market propositions
Form strong external relationships with the market, specifically within the OHDSI community
Be involved in external OMOP-related projects
Demonstrate thought leadership, representing IQVIA and the OMOP group at industry events, in external meetings with key customers and partners, and internal IQVIA strategy meetings.
Our ideal candidate will be / have
10-15 years of B2B product management leadership experience
Ability to build, lead and grow a product team in a fast-paced environment
Experience in creating new products and solutions, as well as managing full life cycle of in-market products
Ability to successfully manage go-to-market activities with Sales and Marketing
Exceptional attention to detail with high caliber communication and influencing skills
A low ego, high-energy self-starter who can lead effectively in a fast paced, global organization
Bonus points for
Experience of life sciences or healthcare sectors
Exposure to OHDSI and OMOP
Location and travel
Role based in Brighton, with option to work remotely elsewhere in the UK
(post-pandemic) Weekly travel to IQVIA’s Brighton office
(post-pandemic) Some travel expected to other IQVIA offices (eg, East Coast US), to meet customers or attend conferences
The RWS Technology team mission is to deliver world-class and globally scalable technology platforms and analytics applied to complex and large-scale clinical datasets, to support IQVIA's ongoing and rapid growth in real world analytics solutions, as well as the development of new product lines. This requires global leadership across technical and data architecture, software development and data visualization, privacy management, analytical methods, data science, machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP) - building upon 100s of novel technologies and methods either published in peer-reviewed journals or patented by our team.
The solutions are delivered to a variety of clients across life-science, government, payor or provider organizations. The RWS team also curates the largest collection of de-identified real world data in the world, from different patient care settings in 18 countries worldwide – the RWS Tech team is at the forefront of "Big Data" in healthcare.
The OMOP team will be an enabler for reliable healthcare analytics in our industry, at a global level.
