Job Summary
This position is responsible for the coordination of all PSE&G Electric System Operators initial and continuous (annual) training process and certification requirements that have been developed to ensure that system operators performing real-time, reliability-related tasks on the North American Bulk Electric System (BES) are qualified to perform those reliability-related tasks.
Job Responsibilities
Coordinate the design, development, implementation and evaluation of the overall training program and all of its components to meet regulatory requirements.
Implement the SAT model to ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standard PER-005 and PJM Manual 40.
Develops training lesson materials.
Conducts/delivers HPI training (and mandatory training as needed).
Implement continuous and annual Evaluation of the ESOC Training Program to identify any needed changes and implement the changes identified, in compliance with NERC Reliability Standard PER-005 R1.4.
Creates and manages the Access Databases that contains all necessary training records.
Creates assessments, and evaluations to identify strengths and weakness which are developed in a format that is uploaded into the PJM LMS.
Coordinates with PJM training liaison to upload all necessary ESOC documents into the PJM LMS to be used during annual and initial training.
Assist shift supervisors in oversight of OJT activities for qualifications.
Participate on PJM Training committees and act as Training Liaisons between ESOC and PJM.
Develop schedules and agendas for system operator training.
Monitors continuing education hours to ensure system operators’ NERC and PJM Certifications are maintained.
Maintain updated records of all ESOC training within the ESOC database which includes retrieving reports from the PJM LMS.
Assist in the Organization and/or coordination of PSE&G participation in PJM and NERC sponsored drills and training.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required
Bachelors Degree or 10 years relevant experience in a regulated industry
5 years training experience: instructor-led, computer based, virtual, training (a must).
Good oral and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively; exercise independent action, judgment and risk management; act decisively; and interact effectively with all Transmission System stakeholders.
Understand and adhere to the Standards of Conduct as described in FERC Order 717, and Data Confidentiality Agreements.
Demonstrated inquisitiveness, decisiveness, positive attitude and teamwork.
Must successfully complete the PJM Interconnection Training Program for System Operators.
Must attain PJM System Operator Certification within 24 months of start date.
Must complete mandatory PJM yearly training requirements and Continuing Education Hours.
Must attain NERC Transmission Operator Certification within 24 months of start date.
Must complete mandatory NERC yearly training requirements and Continuing Education Hours.
Desired:• 10+ years of training experience.
