County of Cumberland Clerk 1 - Division of Social Services in Bridgeton, New Jersey

Definition: Under close supervision, performs routine, repetitive clerical work involving the processing of documents in a variety of functions. Examples of Work: * Reviews, sorts, and routes incoming correspondence and prepares letters on routine matters which may not be signed or reviewed by the administrative official entailing a comprehensive knowledge of division programs, objectives, standards, policies, and procedures. * Sees that pertinent material is obtained from files and other sources, arranges it in a usable form, and prepares memoranda and summaries as required. * May provide information to those requesting it, including department personnel, representatives of state, local, and other organizations, and agencies, and to the public in accord with established policy. * Performs other related job duties as assigned. Knowledge: * Communicate effectively and professionally. * Knowledge of modern office methods to include experience with email and Microsoft Office products. * Excellent organizational, analytical, and data entry skills. * Knowledge of office routines, procedures, and practices, and their application to specific situations * Ability to type accurate correspondence and reports. Requirements: * High school diploma or GED. LICENSE: * Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey. Note: Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing that includes drug screening, criminal background check, and verification of a clean driving record.
