Aurora Flight Sciences of West Virginia Systems Stress Analyst in Bridgeport, West Virginia

Systems Stress Analyst Position Overview At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Systems Stress Analyst to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Responsibilities -Supervise, lead, and/or perform system analysis using hand calculations and/or finite element analysis methods such as ANSYS, Patran, NASTRAN, or other commercial or developed solvers for a variety of aircraft systems -Support the design and analysis of air vehicle subsystems, including but not limited to landing gear, steering, braking, flight control actuation, hydraulic systems, mechanisms, ECS, and ground service equipment. -Lead and/or make valuable contributions to a stress analysis team: discuss solutions and resolve issues for complex, multi-disciplinary problems and produce governing documentation to guide process -Perform analysis, modeling, and simulation to define and verify requirements for subsystems and components -Communicate information about vehicle subsystem design, requirements, and performance between the design team, management, customer, subcontractors, and vendors at design reviews, technical meetings, and technical program reviews Minimum Requirements -Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline. -At least 5 years of relevant experience in the aerospace industry (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience). -Demonstrated experience with detailed analysis and sizing of aircraft systems using finite element models and classical hand analysis techniques. -Experience with engineering analysis software such as ANSYS, MATLAB, FEMAP, NASTRAN, Patran, etc. -Experience with CAD software (CATIA V5 preferred) -Experience conducting stress analysis on metallic components and structure -Effective English written and communication skills. -Must be a U.S. Person. Preferred Requirements -Master's degree or equivalent Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline -Experience leading the development of aerospace systems, from conceptual design through production. -Ability to effectively build and lead small teams. -Experience conducting stress analysis on composite components and structure -Experience with project management. -Experience with system engineering processes, including but not limited to requirements development, system safety analysis (FHA, FTA, FMEA development), and reliability analysis. -Experience with multi-body dynamics analysis, and/or thermal analysis. Physical Requirements -Candidates must be able to support occasional travel within the US Salary Range (Annualized USD) Minimum Range: $68,000.00 to $120,000.00 Maximum Range: $84,000.00 to $150,000.00
