Accounting Manager

Summary

The Accounting Manager position offers diverse accounting responsibilities and will work alongside senior management and the Controller. The Accounting Manager will assume responsibility for the day-to-day accounting functions of the Company and collaborate with operational leadership to support decision making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assume accounting responsibility for the day-to-day operations. Direct supervision of the accounting team. Executes the monthly closing procedures which include recording journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring all entries are properly recorded. Performs financial analysis as directed by accounting management for support of business decisions. Review and approve accounting staff entries. Inventory accounting to include product setups and maintenance, annual product costing updates, slow-moving obsolete inventory analysis, physical inventory counts and cycle counting, and associated variance analysis. Analyzes input costs, monitor cost fluctuations, and makes recommendations for adjustments. Prepare for and respond to internal and external audit requests. Work with the Controller to ensure adequate SOX and internal controls are in place and maintained to safeguard financial assets. Assist in capex preparation, reporting, and oversight. Assist in the preparation of local and regional budget and forecasting processes. Participate in ad hoc reporting and projects as needed to support other functions/departments. Foster a success-oriented, continuous improvement environment within the organization. Other duties as may be assigned by the Controller.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (MBA / CPA a plus). 3+ years' experience in general accounting/finance or audit firm experience. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
