VMware Global Retail Strategist - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Bridgeport, Connecticut

Job Description

As a Global Retail Strategist (GRSS) in the Global Retail Services Industry group you will play an important role in building and sustaining executive customer relationships and trust in our most strategic accounts. Your role is to be a consultative thought leader that partners with the customer to craft a transformation strategy that aligns with the customers business objectives and VMWare’s offerings.

As a Global Retail Strategist, you will routinely collaborate with Director, VP and C-level executives providing insights, perspective, and guidance on long-term business and technology strategy, investments, and innovation. Your role combines design-thinking, strategy consulting, industry analysis, deal structuring, and enterprise architecture. You will facilitate cross-functional sales and account teams on high-profile engagements, executive presentations and workshops, represent VMware at executive forums, and educate VMware account teams on best practices and industry trends.

As a Global Retail Strategist your role will be impactful, visible, and rewarding.

This is a home office-based position.

Travel: Up to 50% to customer sites and conferences as needed. Most travel will be regional and will include some occasional overnight travel.

Required Skills

  • Experience developing and growing ‘C’ Level relationships

  • Comfortable working both independently and with a team

  • Strong customer facing and relationship building skills

  • Experience developing Transformational Solutions to meet business needs in a global retailer

  • Understanding of the financial and technical challenges faced with running modern day IT operations at large corporations

  • Ability to communicate and simplify complex topics

  • Technical and Business writing and presentation skills

  • Understanding of Retail (retail strategies, ROI, TCO, budget planning, organizational design)

  • Presentation skills including public speaking, meeting facilitation and white boarding

  • Project Management

Desired Skills

  • BA/BS required

  • Retail Experience Required (Leadership)

  • 5+ years industry expertise within a high-tech or consulting environment

  • Understanding of VMware’s Solutions and Services

Due to the Biden Administration issuing an Executive Order (EO) that effectively mandates COVID-19 vaccination for all U.S. based employees of federal contractors and subcontractors, all U.S. based VMware employees will be required to have their final vaccination dose (e.g., second dose of Pfizer or Moderna, or single dose of J&J) by January 4, 2022.
