How you will make an impact:
This is a critical data governance management role accountable for establishing and maintaining group wide data policies, standards and processes. This high visibility position identifies, seeks and drives consensus among various business and IT partners. As part of the newly created Data Governance Office, data will be standardized and curated to provide elevated insights.
What you will do:
Drive consensus across executives to establish common data standards to guide the organization
Become a data governance "go to person" specialized in data policy and standards that internal customers seek advice from
Understand various business needs and requirements for a consistent and flexible set of data rules and standards
Own the development and maintenance of clear and concise data policies and standards
Partner with multi-functional leaders and fellow DGO colleagues to align and implement global data policies, standards, and processes
Work with and support group, divisional and BU level data stewards and system SMEs on adaptable local standards
Lead the regular review and training of data policies and standards across the groups and divisions
Build a community of data governance practitioners especially on standards methodology and implementation
How you will get here:
Bachelor's Degree required, Masters Degree preferred. Ideal subject areas include business, finance, technology and regulatory agency.
5+ years of experience of data governance or master data management including writing data policies, standards and processes
5+ years of experience in a regulated industry (healthcare, financial, life science and manufacturing)
5+ years proven track record leading multi-functional and large project team
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Outstanding domain knowledge of data governance especially data policies, standards and processes
Demonstrated program and project management expertise including prioritization and problem solving
Solid communication, presentation and social skills, especially the ability to build and maintain consensus among leaders
Versatile consulting skills within a matrix and diverse organization
Demonstrated ability to manage adversity and sophisticated situations
A passion for good writing and documentation
