Job Title: Loadout Operator Meal & Oil Pay Grade: Reports to: Operations Superintendent Department: Shipping & Receiving FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Date Revised: 04/01/2021 Job Summary Responsible for safely handling, loading, and unloading unprocessed and finished product using motorized and mechanical equipment. Products include soybeans, meal, hulls, oil, and other soybean-based by-products. Inspects, verifies, and records incoming and outgoing product. Job Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow safety policies, procedures and OSHA regulations. Identify and communicate work place hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe conditions. Load and unload hopper trucks, railroad cars, and other applicable shipping vehicles by utilizing motorized and mechanical equipment such as skid steers, telehandlers, pay loaders, scissor lifts, locomotives, forklifts, etc. Gathers samples from each shipment, verifies and completes accompanying documentation. Performs data entry to ensure accurate tracking of loads and associated shipping numbers. Analyzes loads and utilizes basic mathematics to determine maximum capacity/shipment. Accurately records inventory of products and records results. Performs periodic inspections of shipping equipment and performs light maintenance, as needed. Works collaboratively with laboratory personnel and other departments to ensure timely shipping of all products. Maintain designated housekeeping through daily, weekly, monthly and annual schedules to MnSP standards. Participates in monthly environmental, health, and safety training, and departmental meetings as required. Maintain a team environment and high level of customer service, and friendly atmosphere. Cross train in all Shipping & Receiving processes. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Expectations Continuous plant operations requires 12-hour shift work including: nights, weekends, and holidays. Works mandatory overtime: including vacation and sick coverage. Physically report to work on time and is seldom absent Work Environment and Equipment Works both outdoors and indoors, depending on shipping needs. Exposed to marked changes in temperature from -20 to +100 degrees. Able to spend long periods being on your feet including; walking, standing, and climbing stairs and ladders. Works around industrial machinery and equipment. Frequently works on or around high structures. Occasionally works in confined quarters. Exposed to dust, chemicals and fumes. Often exposed to excessive noise. Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). Operates motorized equipment to include, but is not limited to, Kubota, skid steers, telehandlers, pay loaders, scissor lifts, locomotives, shuttle wagon, forklifts, etc.
