Labcorp Technician/Technologist in Brentwood, Tennessee
The Integrated Oncology Lab in Brentwood, TN is seeking a Technician/Technologist. The Technician/Technologist performs and reports for assigned technical procedures with supervision of the training manager, assistant manager or the manager; performs and records quality control testing; performs and records instrument maintenance.
The work schedule for this position will be Tuesday - Saturday 08:30am - 05:00pm.
Performs assigned technical assays according to established procedures and reports test results.
Performs and records assigned instrument maintenance and function checks.
Demonstrates view/edit, data entry, quality control, quality assurance and faxing capabilities in the computer system.
Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problem or immediately notify the manager, supervisor, or director.
Performs, records and reports quality control results to the manager, supervisor, or director. Records corrective actions taken.
Records dates of receipt, in use, and expiration for all reagents, kits, controls, and standards used for assigned assays.
Prepares reagents according to written procedures, performs reagent quality control checks, and demonstrates appropriate corrective action for unacceptable reagent performance.
Adheres to established processing times while maintaining the highest quality of test results and the most efficient use of resources.
Participates in proficiency testing and competency testing using standard operation procedures.
Conforms to all company policies and maintains a business-like, professional attitude at all times.
Helps to maintain a safe working environment by strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures. Is alert to the existence of safety hazards and reports any unsafe conditions to the general supervisor.
Complies with all the requirements set forth in the Compliance program and cooperates with management as it endeavors to carry out the objective of the Compliance program.
Additional duties as assigned.

Bachelors Degree In Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology (MT or MLS) or Other Life Science OR Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT Degree)
ASCP or AMT certification is preferred, or eligible to sit for the exam
MT or MLT TN State License Required
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
