Team Lead, IT Store Systems

Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for a team that implements, unit tests, deploys, maintains and supports features for all Tractor Supply Company (TSC) store systems and Point of Sale Technologies. Additional responsibilities include directing technical work, leading projects and mentoring team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

• Provides leadership in the development and deployment of generative AI solutions, including large language models (LLMs), ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices• Collaborate with data analysts, and business stakeholders to design and deploy AI solutions.• Demonstrate AI use-cases, conducting workshops and training sessions to foster AI adoption.• Evaluate and implement best practices in AI/ML, data mining, and analytics.• Document architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, and standard operating procedures for AI solutions.• Provide expert consultation on AI-related standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.• Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning for AI computing infrastructure.• Stay updated with emerging technologies in AI and ML to enhance institutional capabilities.• Develop, configure, build, review and unit test software/solutions. • Supervise and direct work of individuals within the team. • Meet with technical leads, architects and vendor partners to determine project scope and vision, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, and ensure the system is implemented as designed as well as in adherence to the implementation guidelines.• Liaison with business users and other IT teams.• Hire, develop and motivate assigned staff.• Participate and make recommendations on the technical and functional direction of their domain. • Work with the Enterprise teams to ensure changes are properly documented, communicated, audited, and deployed in compliance with established procedures. • Mentor team members in new technologies in areas of expertise.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 8+ years of experience supporting a production Point of Sale platform such as Oracle Micros or xStore as well as multiple years of experience developing store systems applications using enterprise Java technologies. Retail experience is preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related technical field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Professional Certifications:

⦁ Developer certification in WebSphere Commerce is preferred.

⦁ Programmer certification in Java is preferred.

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

• Expertise in predictive analytics, machine learning, deep learning architectures, and text analytics with NLP.

• Proficiency in Python for AI/ML

• Knowledge of high-performance AI computing platforms, Linux, and shell scripting in AI computing environments.

• Strong knowledge of profiling techniques, memory management, and performance tuning is preferred.

• Demonstrated collaboration skills with the ability to handle conflict and to work with a distributed team.

• Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
