In this role, you'll oversee, develop, and manage our workers' compensation program with the goal of promoting a culture of safety and support. From ensuring compliance with state-specific laws to collaborating with legal partners, you'll be at the forefront of protecting our most valuable asset – our people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management:Ensure compliance with state-specific workers' compensation laws in all states where LifePoint operates.
  • Settlement Evaluation:Evaluate cases for potential settlement and provide guidance to our third-party administrators to negotiate settlements.
  • Legal Collaboration:Work closely with multiple attorneys in the defense or resolution of claims, ensuring effective management of legal processes.
  • Education and Training:Educate hospital personnel on workers' compensation, employee safety, and reporting requirements, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Claims Management:Collaborate with third-party administrators to ensure claims are handled in a timely manner and reserves are properly established.
  • File Reviews:Conduct quarterly file reviews with our third-party administrators
  • Loss Prevention:Conduct assessments at hospitals experiencing a high frequency of claims, proactively addressing potential risks and hazards.
  • Due Diligence:Participate in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions, ensuring workers' compensation considerations are addressed.
  • Collaborative Efforts:Work with other members of the health support center to achieve desired results in the workers' compensation program.

You'll have access to sensitive and confidential information, requiring a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance standards.

  • Education:Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience:Minimum of 10 years related experience, with union awareness preferred.
