The Assistant Vice President, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for providing strategic process improvement and cost savings opportunities within the organization and by providing leadership and direct supervision to an assigned team.

  • Lead and support department team members to negotiate, award, manage, and measure contracts for the purchase of supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Focus on new areas of opportunity for savings, but also for enhanced efficiencies and compliance within supply chain management.
  • Interact with all appropriate departments and leaders to develop, coordinate, and integrate cost management programs into departmental services.
  • Collaborate with facilities/departments to monitor and report on compliance of implemented changes in products, services and processes.
  • Develop and lead requests for proposals (RFPs) and conduct comprehensive analyses of responses including detailed financial analyses.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals for purchases, products, supplies, technology, and capital equipment services to assure adherence to compliance, making Company-wide recommendations based on findings.
  • Analyze and quantify methods to enhance and improve supply chain processes, systems, and effectiveness for all affiliated hospitals.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings related to Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contract compliance.
  • Negotiate and work with internal legal team to draft contracts on behalf of the Company to ensure Lifepoint standardization and consistency.

Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.

Experience:10 years of experience

Moderate overnight travel (up to 30%) by land and/or air.
