Operations Supervisor - Structural/ Pipe Requisition ID 2024-12049 Location US-WA-Bremerton Seat Location EB Puget Sound (Bremerton), WA Trade Manufacturing Support/Trades Shift 1st, 2nd, 3rd Security Clearance Required Secret Overview This position is for the EB West Maintenance & Modernization Site in Bremerton, WA. Maintenance and Modernization has an opening for a highly motivated Operations Supervisor to support delivered ship work at the EB West site. The successful candidate will responsible for providing daily direction and technical assistance to a multi-disciplined crew (e.g. Machinist, Shipfitters, Welders, Sheetmetal workers, etc.) of up to 17 tradesmen. The Operations Supervisor will manage the performance of the group's Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Continuous Improvement as well as be responsible for the administration and execution of the craft's work paper (ie. Work orders, EWP, ERS, TGIs, DLs, ERs, Unsats, Test Forms, etc). The selected individual shall interface with Engineering, ships' management and other off-site organizations. The Operations Supervisor shall be responsible for developing good work practices along with process improvements, and ensure assigned personnel conform to all regulatory and EB requirements. Qualifications Required: High School diploma / GED or equivalent required. Minimum 5 years working in an industrial marine environment. This is not an entry level position. Experience with pipefitting & pipe welding (to include butt welds) required. Experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing industry, is required. Ability to use NAVSEA/SP ships drawings, technical manuals, ship system manuals and various other documents in the performance of this task is required. Must have knowledge of MDD/MDPs, SP/SSP's, DIs and SIs. Must be able to qualify and maintain Respiratory Protection certification Must be able to qualify and maintain Fall Arrest Protection certification Must be able to qualify and maintain Lifting & Handling / Industrial Trucks certification Must be able to qualify and maintain the EB Heavy Metals Program requirements. Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States and the Far East is required. Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may be required. Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher. Preferred: 5+ years supervisory experience is preferred. Experience with Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, Sheet metal, Welding processes and installation of multiple ship systems on Trident, 688, Seawolf and Virginia class submarines is preferred. Experience in successful layout and installation of hull inserts preferred. Welding, NDT, Electrical, RADCON, and QA experience in maritime environment a plus. Skills Skills: Computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, ERS/EWP, MRPii, and Outlook are necessary to successfully perform this assignment. The candidate must possess strong analytical, causal analysis, communication, organizational, planning, and writing skills under minimal supervision.
