Compensation: Competitive Wage, dependent on experience. This is a Full-Time, Exempt position.

Skookum’s Benefits Administrator is responsible for coordinating and assisting with the administration of employee benefits including retirement, health, and wellness plans. This individual will conduct the benefits portion of new hire orientations, open enrollment meetings, and other benefits and wellness trainings as needed. Must have exceptional skills in communication, managing projects, and a positive attitude with an exceptional work ethic to support multiple cross-functional teams, while engaging as a collaborative part of a larger home office team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as the first point of contact for employee benefits assistance strives to ensure employee understanding of Skookum benefits through communication. Provides timely response to benefits-related payroll deduction inquiries.
Routinely enters data electronically and coordinates daily benefits processing including enrollments and terminations in the company’s HRIS system (Workday) and other vendor edibility systems. Reviews all benefit enrollment documents for accuracy.
Conducts and/or coordinates benefits orientations at various locations to provide employees with an understanding of benefit plans, enrollment provisions, and applicable payroll deductions. Counsels employees on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed decisions.
Communicates effectively with employees, carrier partners, account representatives, and benefits brokers.
Assists in coordination of all open enrollment activities both internally and externally. Arranges for distribution of materials containing new updated information from carriers.
Assures compliance with COBRA guidelines by notifying third-party COBRA Administrators in a timely manner.
Works collaboratively with employees, Managers, Finance, Payroll, and the Human Resources Team regarding benefits and payroll deductions and to ensure accurate employer and employee contributions.
Assists with internal and external plan audits.
Assists in maintaining employee benefit files and guarantees all benefits documents are filed and/or uploaded electronically in the appropriate location. Performs other clerical functions.
1-3 years experience in Human Resources, Benefits, claims processing, or related field.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with others in a courteous and helpful manner.
Must be able to conduct in-person and/or virtual meetings and presentations.
Must be self-motivated, have a keen attention to detail, and have the ability to organize and prioritize work.
Must be proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook required. Experience with MS Teams and HRIS (Workday) is preferred.
A valid State Driver’s license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s automotive insurance company.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable Dept. Of Defense installation access and/or security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
