Location: Bremerton, Washington (Hybrid schedule possible) Type: Exempt Compensation: $78,250 - $105,500 (Skookum's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.) Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs) As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you'll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of one team within the Accounts Payable department. Each team includes approximately: 1 Sr. Accounts Payable Accountant, 3 Accounts Payable Accountants, 1 Accounting Associate and 1 Accounting Clerk. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will manage workflows, provide probationary and biannual performance reviews for each direct report ensuring they are making progress towards their goals and objectives. They will manage weekly payments to suppliers, assist the Cash Management Analyst with daily cashflow operations, prepare various state sales tax reports and be primarily responsible for the application of lease accounting standard ASC 842 for all Skookum Companies. Support all Skookum's business units, enforcing internal control standards, and maximizing efficiency. Effectively handles highly sensitive and confidential information. Supports and positively affects continuity between Skookum and employee goals. Supports company culture and commitment to excellence. Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year. Monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of the staff. Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc. Maintains effective working relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment. Maintain proper internal controls and the enforcement of Skookum's policies and procedures. Perform and lead the AP close and reporting activities, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, prepaid allocations, accruals, and other reporting deliverables. Directs tasks and workload of the accounts payable team to meet department objectives. Provide support, training and mentoring as needed. Oversee prompt, accurate, and complete processing of all accounts payable transactions. Collaborate with vendors and employees to ensure timely payment of invoices and employee expenses. Process supplier invoices, expense reports and employee reimbursements. Review, approve and process accounts payable deposits. Prepare and processes weekly check run and ACH payments. Review banking support items for reconciliations, returned payments, positive pay exceptions. Assist Cash Management Analyst with daily cashflow operations. Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax reports for various states. Review Monthly Aging Report to include analysis of accounts payable turnover and vendor balances.
