Job Description
We are currently hiring a Brewing Operatorin Breinigsville, PA This position is responsible for monitoring and carrying out brew house, fermenting, filtration, blending processes and operations. Candidates must be a self-starter willing to accept "operational responsibility" as well as willing to work any shift including weekends. What you'll brew: Must be able to work with a team-oriented, "Safety First" approach. Safely, efficiently, and effectively work to attain department and brewery objectives. Must observe and practice all Department/Brewery Procedures. Including the proper use of all PPE, this may include but is not limited to; voluntary respirators, bump caps, safety shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection in conjunction with all GMP regulations. Safely and efficiently operate equipment/machinery as assigned to meet department/brewery goals. Must be receptive to working in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships with others. Brewing/Blending Operator responsibilities include monitoring and directly managing the Brew house, Fermenting, Filtration and Blending processes and operations. Involves recording, troubleshooting, temperature and flow monitoring, communication, supplying lines with material or product, line cleaning, sanitation, and foaming. Accurate and timely entry of inventory records within ERP system, at point of use, to include; all materials, ingredients, and in process products. Troubleshoot & escalate any inventory discrepancies with the appropriate group. Sanitation involves the complete cleaning of all the equipment within the facility. Foaming equipment, hoses, brooms, shovels, brushes, scrapers, squeegees and numerous chemicals are necessary to sanitize the designated site. Unloading of material for Brewing and Blending processing which may include rail cars, trucks, totes, drums, pallets, etc. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and make recommendations to the process. Communicate with coworkers by phone and radio. Must carry radio as required. Operate forklifts in a safe and effective manner, as required. Perform Quality checks, testing, and complete paperwork as required. Must be able to make equipment and product changeovers using tools as needed. Assist other operators and departments in training, repair work and equipment operation as needed. Perform work and cleaning in confined space areas Assist with supporting overtime as needed to cover varying production needs. May include 12-hour days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned. Working Conditions: Tolerate summer/winter temperature conditions and hot and cold room environments Operating environment is complex and densely populated with production equipment and forklifts that necessitates high situational awareness Work overtime as needed which may require 12-hour days, weekends, and holidays Tolerate summer/winter temperature conditions and Hot and Cold room environments Must work and clean in confined space areas such as tanks and vessels. What Ingredients you'll bring: Minimum Qualifications: 2+ years experience in food and beverage Manufacturing Good communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting ability, especially involving manufacturing processes and operations Understanding and knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes and systems Experience with participative leadership and time management. Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment. Demonstrated ability to be successful in a collaborative team environment. Highly effective multi-tasker; resourceful with a "get-it-done, can-do" attitude. Proficient with Computer systems including MS Outlook. Must be able to learn and accurately utilize brewery operation system. Must be available to support shift (8 or 12 hour , weekend and holiday schedules as required. Physical Requirements: All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s) Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfaces Responsibilities may require crouching, bending, twisting, climbing, reaching, reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day While performing the duties of this role, it may be required to climb flights of stairs, work from height or on elevated platforms Agile enough to step over, crouch over or crawl under Ability to wear assigned PPE (safety shoes, gloves, facemask, hearing protection and hard hat) Some roles (e.g., forklift operator) may be required to sit for a prolonged period of time and have strong peripheral vision and depth perception Ability to endure on a daily basis, excessive walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, lifting (excess of 60lbs), twisting, climbing, reaching While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, climb flights of stairs, work from elevated areas, and wear a respirator and/or hearing protection when required by the job. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity and eye- hand coordination sufficient to operate hand tools and industrial machinery such as a truck or fork-lift areas and is usually loud. Occasionally work from elevated areas (ladders, platforms, and others as required) Work overtime as needed; which may require 12 hour days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
