Job Summary and Qualifications
Nuclear Medicine Technologist - PRN/Per Diem
We are currently seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner. Your tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Use radioactive isotopes to perform organ and body scans
Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians' orders and record dosages accordingly
Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce images of organs on photographic film
Position patients and adjust immobilization devices
Compassionately explain procedures to patients and address any concerns
Monitor, record and communicate utilizing computerized documentation
May assist with transporting patients as needed
Qualifications:
Associate Degree
Graduate of an accredited and AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program
Clear/active State of Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
Current Nuclear Medicine credential: NMTCB or ARRT (N)
Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required
Current basic life support (BLS) certification upon hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
