Position Summary

The Warehouse Team Lead will supervise and lead the picking and pack out team to ensure all the picked orders are shipped accurately and in a timely manner. Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the warehouse team by leading and directing, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work. This position will report directly to the Service Centre Operations Manager. Please note this position requires flexibility to work various shifts which could include mornings or afternoons (2 PM – 12:30 AM). Shift is determined based on the business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, leads picking/pack out team and ensures all the picked orders are shipped in a timely manner

  • Ensures that items are appropriately marked or tagged for identification purposes.

  • Run productivity reports (lines picked) for picking

  • Conduct regular audits on picked items and ensure orders are being shipped as per Zurn’s standard criteria

  • Supervise picking and pack out area to ensure associates are working safely and customer orders are being completed in a timely manner while following standard operating procedures.

  • Process all out-bound shipments Including: Assemble and package materials per instructions, in preparation for shipment and assure orders and shipping quantities match picking documents

  • Responsible for preparing the daily shipments for invoicing; verifying orders for accuracy, communication to stocking distributors and service centers copies of packing slips, logging all orders shipped on a shipping log

  • Packing out customer orders – Hand loading product to pallets if required

  • Data entry tasks – create and update sales orders, print picking list, update and print packing slips

  • Drive team productivity and continuous improvement

  • Backup for the warehouse daily stand up meeting including running lines shipped and received information

  • Assist in miscellaneous and other projects as required

  • Ensure priorities are actioned

  • Accurate time keeping

  • Ensure all H&S activities are actions/adhered

  • Be able to use WMS/Scanner/MS office programs

  • Weekend/day OT required at times

  • Key holder for open/close building

  • Operate PIT equipment as required

  • Any other duties as assigned by Management

Experience and Skill Required

  • Experience in a warehouse environment in a leadership role

  • Reliability and punctuality

  • Ability to adhere to Policies and Procedures

  • Licenses for PIT equipment (Raymond Reach, Cherry Picker)

  • Strong work ethic

  • Demonstrate high attention to detail

  • Able to multi-task

  • Lead by example – not afraid to “roll up your sleeves” and help the team with picking, packing, etc. as required

  • Possess excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Able to work independently, without much supervision

  • On a continuous basis: work in a standing position, bend and lift up to 40lbs

  • Good communication, data entry and organization skills

  • Knowledge of manufacturing ERP system Microsoft Dynamics 365 an asset

  • Plumbing industry experience is a plus
