The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Business Development Manager for the Electronics Materials Solutions Division, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Developing the next generation of business within our product range of Functional Materials. Product solutions such as EMI and Thermal tapes, 3M™ Bumpon™ Protective Products, microabrasives and general material solutions within Electronic Assembly

  • Focusing primarily on applications within Electronics, Aerospace, Automotive, Semiconductor, Communications Infrastructure and general Industrial markets

  • Managing complex sales cycles, engaging with end users, specifiers, converters and distribution partners

  • Using tools such as LinkedIn to identify key stakeholders and projects to develop a pipeline and thereafter manage through our CRM

  • Close co-operation with your sales and marketing colleagues, sales management and global stakeholders. Working together to identify share gain opportunities, market trends and alignment to global priorities

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Significant sales experience, ideally within the focus markets outlined above.

  • Proven track record of delivering results & growth within complex sales cycles

  • Energetic self-starter who is action orientated, demonstrates resilience and results driven

  • Good presentation skills both in person and working with MS Teams or similar

  • Previous use and working knowledge of Sales Force an advantage

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • Previous experience in focus markets advantageous

    Travel: approx. 30% expected

    Role Location: UK

    Ideal candidate location: Remote based within the UK


    Salary - £ high-reaching dependent on skills and experience plus excellent benefits package.

    Bonus – SIP (Sales Incentive Plan)
