Bozeman Health Network Engineer (Full-Time/Onsite) in Bozeman, Montana

Position Summary:

The Network Engineer is responsible for the operation, security, and day to day maintenance of the systems network, servers, switches and data and voice communications. This position works closely with the Desktop Support Specialist and telecom to give those positions assistance in fulfilling their respective responsibilities to keep all computer operations functioning. The network administrator role includes installing, configuring and upgrading network infrastructure and associated devices. Diagnosing and troubleshooting both common and unusual network problems. Performing preventive maintenance on the network, along with monitoring performance on both the local area network (LAN) and wide area network. The network is monitored 24/7. Develop and maintain server and network system diagrams. This position is also responsible for the installation, operations, upgrade, performance, and monitoring of the network and application servers – as well as security camera and building security systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or 5 years of related experience

  • Two years network experience

  • Two years wireless experience

  • Two years of Citrix experience

  • Five years server, desktop and peripheral experience

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

  • Preferred: Cisco certifications

  • Preferred: Prior hospital or medical practice experience

Essential Job Functions:

  • Install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot routers, gateways, firewalls, and other networking infrastructure for local area and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), including Internet connectivity.

  • Support backup and disaster recovery solutions associated both BH and the affiliated clinics core system infrastructure.

  • Install, administer, support, and maintain server hardware, peripherals, software, and operating systems.

  • Manage and support the information systems security solutions that make up both BDH and the affiliated clinics core infrastructure.

  • Assist other IS staff with resolution of technical and process issues.

  • After-hours on-call duties

  • Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

  • Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight

  • Strong emotional intelligence, interpersonal and teamwork skills
