Manager -Front End

Reports to: Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager

Responsibility: The Manager -Front End has primary responsibility for organizing, directing and controlling the operations of the Front End in a grocery store environment. During the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Department Managers’ absence, the Manager- Front End assumes the overall responsibility for directing and controlling the operations of the total store property. The Manager -Front End will uphold Town & Country Foods’ policies and procedures. The Manager -Front End will make decisions in the interest of Town & Country Foods.

Duties of the Manager -Front End:

Front End Supervisor; The Manager -Front End will orient, train and encourage Cashier Stockers and Countdown Office staff to affect the highest level of customer service & cooperation at all times. Because our success is dependent upon everyone’s ability to work together, the Manager -Front End is responsible for promoting a high level of employee morale using professional and honest communications at all times. The Manager -Front End will discuss performance expectations, observe employee performance and evaluate that performance with the employee to resolve any problems. The Manager -Front End will maintain good order and productivity through proper discipline and proper documentation of any disciplinary action. The Manager -Front End will assist with the completion of the Employee Performance Evaluations the first day, first week, and first month of an employee’s probation. The Manager -Front End will complete the Employee Performance Evaluation a minimum of twice yearly for all employees they supervise, as stated in the Company Policies.

Cashier Stockers Scheduling; The Manager -Front End will oversee the work of the Cashier Stockers. The Manager Front End will consider the needs of the store and requirements of the job; the ability of each employee to do the work properly, and the urgency or deadline so the work is completed on time. The Manager -Front End will make any scheduling changes in the interest of Town & Country Foods. The Manager -Front End will not allow unapproved overtime.

Customer Service Supervisor; The Manager -Front End will communicate with Assistant Store Manager potential current and future scheduling requirements based on anticipated demand, so all customers are promptly served at the checkout. The Manager -Front End will resolve problems and settle conflicts with customers, consult with Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager and other managers about customer’s problems or customer’s suggestions of ways to improve a department or the store. The Manager -Front End will assist the Assistant Store Manager with the suggestion box and assist resolution of complaints or suggestions. The Manager- Front End will see that customers’ requests for products are considered and fulfilled when feasible. The Manager -Front End is responsible for the supervision of the customer entrances to the store and customer parking lot, including landscaping.

The Manager -Front End will review all cashier scan times, cash register over and shorts and will coach employees as needed.

Front-End Merchandising; The Manager -Front End will assist the Assistant Store Manager in organizing, directing and controlling ordering, checking in of freight, verifying invoices and prices and the stocking of products assigned to the Front end. The Manager -Front End will ensure appropriate inventories of all front end merchandise and supplies.

Security Supervisor; The Manager Front End will maintain security measures for theft & shoplifting.

Essential Duties; The Manager- Front End will evaluate the store continually to maximize sales and profits. The Manager -Front End maintains profitable operations by monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures. The Manager -Front End will maintain employee’s appearance and dress code. The Manager -Front End will instill in employees the importance of cleanliness in them and of equipment and surroundings. The Manager -Front End will protect employees & customers by providing a safe & clean environment through training and evaluation, and know the location of safety and emergency equipment. The Manager- Front End maintains stability & reputation of Town & Country Foods by complying with all legal requirements and other expectations
